Head of the Department
Civil
Engineering is the Mother of all Engineering
professions. The Egyptian pyramids, Roman aqueducts
and highways,
Great
Wall of China
and ours own Taj Mahal are all the Civil Engineering
feats. Today the profession offers opportunity for
involvement in various areas of Civil Engineering in
the field of construction, construction materials,
environment, geotechnical, structural,
transportation and water resource engineering and
allied areas. The opportunity for significant
contributions towards the betterment of society is
limitless for the Civil Engineers.
MISSION
To
educate and prepare students to succeed in the Civil
Engineering profession by providing them with
essential technical tools and skills which will
enable them to perform current and future Civil
Engineering tasks and to promote the need for
lifelong learning.
EDUCATIONAL
OBJECTIVES:
The Civil Engineering curriculum
is designed to reflect above mission. The
undergraduate programme was designed to provide
students with a broad understanding of basic Civil
Engineering concepts. The curriculum gives them the
necessary academic foundation and will also enable
them to focus on a particular aptitude that may
guide them decide and their specialization in
graduate school.
